PSG CHAIRPERSON'S MESSAGE (2018)
Hello parents!
On behalf of the PSG, I extend a very warm welcome to you all into the big BPian family.
The BPGHS PSG is a group of parent volunteers who believes in devoting our time, talents and thoughts to work in concert with the school to further the school mission to educate and nurture every BPian to be a passionate learner and an inspiring leader.
Besides supporting school-initiated programmes, the PSG meets regularly at sharing and brainstorming sessions to plan and organize programmes to promote parent-child bonding. This is on top of the plentiful parenting workshops arranged by the school.
For parents of teenagers, we may have already witnessed or will soon be witnessing hair-trigger moods and helpless moments when our teenager go through major social, personal and physical changes. What can we do to help our teenagers deal with the anxiety they face at this stage? How do we help them deal with teenage angst while maintaining our sanity? Indeed, parenting teenagers is no walk in the park.
Many of us have built invaluable friendship in the PSG. Whether it be over parenting workshops or informal coffee sessions, members accord each other mutual support and encouragement as they generously share parenting tips. In the midst of trying parenting moments, such gatherings provided an avenue for members to strengthen the bond with each other.
Current PSG members are a lot of interesting and sociable people from diverse backgrounds. We bring with us different experience and we harness this diversity to put together a series of exciting activities for 2018. Stay tuned for more updates of the programmes lined up for the year.
Every parent matters, every little (or much) effort counts. We invite you to join us to volunteer your time and energy to work together in partnership with the school to enrich the learning journey of our kids, and at the same time, with the hope that through the social support network that develops over time, your parenting journey will be made a little easier, a little smoother.
Feel free to approach me or any member of the PSG if you need more information about what we do. We look forward to your contribution and participation.
